Tired

Man I'm tired.

I slept for two and a half hours last night, which combined with five or so the previous night makes for about seven hours out of the last fifty whatever. I actually went to bed early (for me) at 11, and fell asleep to at two, only to wake up at half four, and not be able to get back to sleep.

This has been going on for a few weeks now, and it's really starting to wear me out. I just really want to sleep a good nights sleep before work, but am seemingly incapable.

I feel wired, and somewhat stupid. I keep on making really crass mistakes, and am almost too tired to care. Yesterday on leaving the office I kept pushing on the door until the girl on reception gently said, "just pull it sweetheart".

I realised I'd been reading the "push" printed graphic on the outside of the glass (in reverse, of course)

Mentally, I feel on the level of watching lots of daytime tv, and that's about it. Countdown would probably seem as tough as quantum physics right now though.

If I can just get through tomorrow, I might just hibernate over Easter and not leave my bed.. In the meantime though, any sleeping tips?

This is getting trippy.

  1. There was an interesting article in Sunday's Observer about sleep. I've still got a copy if you're interested.

    Advice? It's sounds like parental advice but getting some physical excercise really really helps.

    I've not been to the gym for about four weeks now, and I've been sleeping really badly as a result. After a 30 minute run I tend to crash out and sleep heavily all the way through the night.

    And I'll be asleep in minutes, rather than my current 1 hour plus, followed by waking up at 4.30am.

  2. Hmm mebbe.

    It's got to be said my current regime of sitting staring at a screen for eight hours before going home hardly helps.

    I could do with a pool really, I used to love swimming in the Olympic one in Manchester of an evening. I'm not sure the Camberwell is of quite that standard though..

  5. Hmm, not that bad, I just feel like a sandwich someone's left on a radiator for a week and so far attempts to rectify this with traditional methods (ie going to bed, are failing me)

    Go on, give us some sleep hygiene then..

  8. Yeah daytime TV is like babyfood for the mind. Like the worst bits of evening tv but.. more of it.

    Wall to wall bargain hunt/home buying/chatshow drivel.

    Countdown's alright though.
